The Engine Roars Beneath the Skin
Anton is 17, loves motocross and dreams of speeding off, far away from the dead-end town he comes from. But more than anything, he just wants to get laid.
At home are his hippie parents, who haven’t quite grasped that Anton is a boy. They mean well, but struggle to let go of the idea of their daughter and say the wrong things a little too often. Luckily, Anton’s grandmother has taken it upon herself to be his personal bodyguard.
Then Öyvind shows up: intense, impulsive and fearless. He makes filthy jokes with everyone and anyone, and whispers things in Anton’s ear that leave him breathless. It starts with a date. Leads to a first time. And turns into something neither of them saw coming.
Cross is a twisted, outspoken and shamelessly funny story about desire, identity and relationships. A production that floors it – sweaty, honest and straight to the point – about being yourself in a world full of opinions about who you should be.
