A Field Study in Listening to Silence
Ulf Rönnerstrand is an actor. But that’s not why he’s here.
He is also an investigator of paranormal phenomena. And now he has come to investigate something very strange that has happened. The classroom becomes the scene of an investigation. Equipped with recording devices, notes and a very particular method, he sets out to explore what we so often dismiss as coincidence, chance or imagination.
Together with the students, Ulf Rönnerstrand explores what lingers within the walls. Using Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP), attention is drawn to what would otherwise fade into the background. Suddenly, silence no longer behaves as silence should. There may be something there that we have never encountered before. What might we hear if we listen closely enough?
Dr Rönnerstrands metod is a site-specific, collective experience that transforms the familiar classroom into something else. What we thought we knew takes on new dimensions – and time, space and reality expand far beyond the limits of our consciousness.

Ticket information: Dr Rönnerstrand’s Method is an interactive experience primarily presented in classrooms for students in years 4–6. A limited number of public performances take place in the foyer at Backa Theatre. As the experience is shaped by its surroundings, it takes on a different form depending on whether you encounter Rönnerstrand in a classroom or at the theatre.
